Put it on your wall

A tablet, a stand and about 15 minutes. Daily Tracker's Wall view shows what is next for everyone in the house, readable from across the room. Most setups come to well under $150, or nothing if you already own a tablet.

1. Pick a screen

Any Android tabletThe most flexible choice. Install the Fully Kiosk Browser app to lock it to the Wall and keep it awake. Fully Kiosk Browser
An iPad you already haveWorks well with Guided Access, which locks it to one page. No extra app needed.
A Fire tablet on a standInexpensive. Use the Silk browser and the steps below.
Echo Show 15 or 21Open Daily Tracker in its web browser. It is the least flexible option because you cannot install a kiosk app, so a tablet is the better buy.
A TV with a streaming stickAny stick with a web browser works. Open Daily Tracker and press the Wall button.

Prices change often. Look at 10 inch tablets and wall mounts and stands; these are plain searches, not paid links.

2. Mount it

A wall mount with a power cable run behind it looks cleanest. A stand on a counter is fine too. Keep it plugged in: a wall that runs on battery will die. Landscape works best.

3. Set it up in six steps

  1. On the tablet, open getdailytracker.com and sign in with your account.
  2. Tap the avatar menu, then Add a child or pet to open Home. Add the people in your house.
  3. In Home, under This screen, tap Wall. The Wall opens and returns to Everyone after 2 minutes idle.
  4. Keep the screen from sleeping (see below).
  5. Lock it to the page: Fully Kiosk on Android, or Guided Access on iPad (Settings, Accessibility, Guided Access, then triple-click the side button on the Daily Tracker page).
  6. Optional: add family photos in Home, Family photos, then choose Family photos in the screen saver settings (the moon button).

The one setting that stops the screen sleeping

iPadSettings, Display and Brightness, Auto-Lock, Never. Guided Access also keeps the page in front.
AndroidIn Fully Kiosk: Device Management, Keep Screen On. Without it: Settings, Display, Screen timeout, longest, and Developer options, Stay awake while charging.
Fire tabletSettings, Display, Screen Timeout, the longest option, and keep it plugged in.

Daily Tracker also asks the browser to hold the screen awake while the Wall is open. This works on most current devices, but the setting above is the one that always holds.

Wi-Fi drops

The Wall keeps working from what it already loaded. A small red dot appears in the corner while it is offline and everything syncs when the Wi-Fi returns.

A stuck wall

From your phone, open the avatar menu, Home, Screens, and tap Reload beside the wall.
